Drop Side Crib Recall

On November 23, 2009, the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission issued a recall notice for Stork Craft drop side cribs, which are manufactured by Stork Craft Manufacturing, of British Columbia, Canada. The problem the CPSC cited was related to defective hardware, which can cause babies and young children to possibly suffocate or cause other injuries related to entrapment.

Included in the recall is nearly 150,000 Stork Craft drop side cribs that have the Fisher-Price logo on them. In January, there was another Storkcraft recall involving half a million cribs..

In the past, there have been other significant recalls, including those made by Simplicity and Delta Enterprise.

Retail stores that have sold these types of cribs - or similar cribs include some of the largest retailers in the world. BJ's, J.C. Penney, Kmart, Meijer, Sears, USA Baby, Wal-Mart, Amazon.com, Babies R us, Costco, and Target have either carried the drop side cribs or still carry them online and in stores.

Owners of these cribs should visit the Storkcraft.com website for further details, once the site is accessible (traffic is slowing it down and/or making it unavailable).
